One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is the Mausoleum. During 377 to 353 B.C. Bodrum was having its best rule under Mausolus. When he died in 353 B.C. ,his wife and his sister ,Arterrisia employed the Greek architects and 4 sculptors to build his tomb.
This tomb is the Mausoleum originally a temple like structure made of stones and marbles and destroyed by an earthquake in 14th century the ruins were used in building of the Halikarnassus Castle. Many statues from the mausoleum were carried to The British Museum and now lies there for public viewing.
